One Doc, One Light, Two Looks

I recently had the privilege of photographing Dr. Alan Miller at Baylor Hospital's new Sammons Cancer Center. The plan was to shoot Dr. Miller in his new lab, but with the grand opening about a week away, the lab wasn't photo ready. Plan B - photograph him in one of the spacious infusion rooms.

Not the most photogenic, umm, it wasn't photo ready either. Plan C - panic. Looking around, I found a hallway leading off the infusion area that might provide a nice backdrop. I quickly set up one speedlight and a shoot through umbrella to get this shot.
I thought that I could make it a bit more dramatic or at least give it a more scientific/medical feel, so I gelled the flash with a full CTO, switched the camera's white balance to tungsten and came up with this.
Didn't change much, but got a much different feel, all in a couple of minutes.
